Since 2019, Bolda Szmrecsányi has been a student in the graphic arts program at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Her promising artistic ambitions and talent were already evident in previous years at the Budai Drawing School, and later at the NaN-art Drawing and Graphic Workshop, where she gained experience in the fine arts and developed her drawing skills before entering university. Her dynamic compositions blend fictional and realistic landscape elements, creating a unique inner atmosphere. These works reflect both a calming, meditative state of nature and, at the same time, bring to life the dynamic interplay of brushstrokes, colors, and light effects, navigating between expressivity and formality.
Her works capture a uniquely personal, almost mysterious world, while always maintaining a connection to nature-inspired themes from the surrounding reality. Not only does she enrich her paintings with her graphic knowledge, but she also incorporates painterly elements into her graphic work. She thrives on contrasts, choosing not to take a firm stance between figurative and expressive approaches but rather blending the two.
As a highly active young artist, she has achieved excellent results during her university studies, excelling in professional programs and purposefully realising her artistic vision despite her young age. Bolda Szmrecsányi is a daring, experimental artist who, while pursuing her studies in graphic arts, also seeks to express herself fully in the realm of painting.
